Our Initiatives & Impact!

Children's Book Drive

At YUGC, we believe that every child deserves the power of literacy. Global literacy rates are declining, widening the education gap. Children who read regularly are more likely to excel academically and break cycles of poverty. That's why we hope to bridge the gap by bringing books to children in underserved communities.

Our Impact:

  • We collected over 1,000 books through local book drives at middle schools, high schools, and public libraries.
    • Partnered with the Bridges of Books Foundation to distribute books to underprivileged communities across New Jersey, USA.
    • Partnered with an organization that founded an elementary school in Laos for 200 students by donating young English books to help children build essential English-language skills

Microgrant Fund & Mentorship for South Sudanese Women Entrepreneurs

YUGC launched a Microgrant Fund to help women in South Sudan become independent leaders and entrepreneurs to rebuild, sustain, and strengthen their communities through the ongoing civil war.

This was made possible with our partnership with the Women and Youth Empowerment Link Organization (WoYELO) and initiation through the United Nations Department of Peace Operations (UN DPO).

Spotlight: One of our recipients, Adong, was able to grow her family business substantially within 2 months, that the profits were enough to afford her's and her sister's school tuition!

Grant Details:

  • 20 total microgrants valued at $150 USD (19,539 SSP) each, issued in two rounds
    • 10 grants in 2025 and 10 more in 2026.
  • Monthly mentorship sessions led by youth business leaders and activists
    • Workshops on budgeting, marketing, and leadership
    • Specialized remote feedback on each recipient's business progress reports (both for midterm and final reports)
    • Peer networking to build community and collaboration

We believe that women in South Sudan are strong, capable, and ready to lead. This program is just the launchpad of turning resilience into opportunity, and real  ideas into impact.

Youth United Art Troop

The Art Troop is a team of young artists dedicated to using creative arts as a force to promote sustainability, equality, and community service.

What We Do:

  • Hosted art exhibitions, including one featured at the UN World Oceans Day Conference, raising awareness for ocean conservation
  • Organized sustainability-focused pop-up art fundraisers to support community and environmental causes
  • Currently leading monthly art classes for children at the Homeless Solutions Shelter in New Jersey, bringing creativity and joy to underserved communities

Providing Free Standardized Testing Resources through the Community Server

Our online community server on Discord connects over 680 students worldwide, creating a safe and supportive digital space for youth to grow as learners and leaders. The YUGC Team built and manages the server, ensuring a safe, age-appropriate, and inclusive environment for all members.

What Our Server Provides:

  • 150+ pages of free study materials covering standardized exams such as the SAT and AP subjects including U.S. History, Calculus, and Language & Composition
  • Moderated chatrooms where students study together, exchange advice, and motivate each other
  • Voice chat review sessions before major exams, led by YUGC mentors who answer questions and share effective study techniques
  • Server managers facilitate meaningful discussions and uphold respectful, productive communication
  • Open channels allow members to share their own social impact projects, volunteer opportunities, and youth-led businesses, fostering collaboration beyond academics.

Together, we are building a global network of young changemakers; also known as students who support one another, exchange ideas, lead with purpose, and give back.

Summer Camps & Mentorship Programs

At Youth United Global Coalition, we offer a wide range of programs designed to train tomorrow’s young leaders. Our goal is to help young people discover their passions, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Public Speaking Summer Camp

@ Han Academy Learning Center, Berkeley Heights, NJ

  • Designed for elementary and middle school students, this program introduced the fundamentals of public speaking in a fun and interactive way
  • Students learned how to research, write, and deliver speeches through engaging workshops that covered tone, body language, pacing, and stage presence
  • By the end of each session, every participant presented a final speech or project on a topic of their choice—celebrating their growth as confident communicators and leaders

Online Social Entrepreneurship Mentorship Program

  • A 10-week virtual course where students explore how business and innovation can drive global change
  • Each participant identified a real-world issue they were passionate about and designed a social impact project to address it
  • Spotlight: One of our youngest students, Eileen (Grade 4), turned her class’s love for squishy toys into a climate change awareness initiative to protect animal habitats--- her journey is an example of how a child's creativity can bring about new unique solutions to real problems
